President Biden and his Department of Education have waged a years-long assault against Christian and career colleges and their students, while systematically protecting “elite” public and private institutions, foisting woke ideology on reluctant students, and enabling antisemitic, violent protests on campuses across the nation.

They have done so by weaponizing the Department of Education’s Office of Enforcement—an obscure subsidiary of the Office of Federal Student Aid (FSA) that was created with the implicit intent of shutting down schools and programs that do not conform to the administration’s radical agenda. This campaign, which has been advanced under the auspices of protecting students from “predatory” colleges and universities, threatens to erode traditional family values from higher education and financially squeeze and shut down schools that align with Christians’ values and beliefs.

Created with the implicit purpose of advancing the Biden-Harris administration’s woke agenda, the Department’s Office of Enforcement also targeted two of the nation’s most prominent Christian universities — Grand Canyon University and Liberty University — which resulted in record-level fines worth more than all penalties imposed over the past seven years combined.

This scrutinize-and-penalize campaign against faith-based institutions is not about students’ interests or well-being. It’s part of a concerted effort to snuff out educational choice and pigeon-hole students into schools that promulgate the far left’s “woke,” anti-traditional values agenda. President Biden has sought to repeal religious protections on campuses, publicly smear good-standing faith-affiliated schools, and, now, punish into submission those that do not conform to its progressive ideology. Christian colleges and universities, have grown in popularity because they offer students an education that better aligns with their principles.

This is precisely the reason the Left wants to shut them down.

Thankfully, President Trump has committed to dismantling the Department of Education. However, that does not give these schools any recourse or prevent any future attacks against faith institutions from future administrations. We are calling on Congress to hold an investigatory hearing into the Biden Administration’s discriminatory practices against Christian institutions. Those who actively pursued this anti-Christian agenda must be held accountable; we need to ensure that these excessive retaliatory fines are dropped entirely and not simply transferred to another department for payout. The reaction from lawmakers must be made perfectly clear so that we can ensure our schools are protected from attacks on religious freedom in the future.
